Gaultheria procumbens, commonly known as Wintergreen or Teaberry, is a creeping, woody, evergreen groundcover, clad with glossy, oblong, dark green leaves. Waxy, nodding, bell-shaped, white flowers, bloom in early summer. Flowers give way to edible bright red berries that are a great food source for wildlife, and dried leaves can be used to make tea.
